Modder HalkHogan joins the remaster’s visual work

CD Projekt RED has also confirmed that a significant part of the graphical overhaul is connected to HalkHogan, the creator of the popular The Witcher 3 HD Rework Project. The mod project reportedly reached over 320,000 downloads and 1.6 million views, which helped bring it to the studio’s attention. As a result, HalkHogan has been brought into the remaster’s development.

Release date and pricing for the Switch 2 remaster

The Witcher 3 Remastered for Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on September 29, 2026. Players who do not already own the original game on Switch will pay 59.99 €.

For those who already have The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Nintendo Switch, the upgrade to the Switch 2 remastered version will be free.

Initially, the free upgrade was described as applying to the digital edition. However, it has now been clarified that the same offer also covers the physical version.

Free upgrade confirmed for physical Switch owners, too

Further questions about whether physical owners would be eligible have been answered by the game’s leadership. The CEO of CD Projekt RED confirmed that players who own The Witcher 3 on physical cartridges for Nintendo Switch will also receive the free update to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered for Nintendo Switch 2.
