My name is Bianca Cuellar Arteaga. Born in Bolivia, I came to Indiana with my mother when I was a toddler to pursue a more opportunistic life. Although beautiful, our lives were faced with many hardships and traumatic experiences throughout the years. From a young age, I realized the impact that the mind-body-soul connection has on us and decided to pursue the path of healing. What started as using food as medicine, has evolved into a passion for using the Earth as medicine and so much more.
I currently work as a Product Developer for a food innovation company that bases its technology on sustainability, purity, preservation, and flavor-capturing. It is a blessing to come to a creative environment where I can incorporate my herbal knowledge into the mix. I am also an Amazonian Medicine Practitioner and Media Manager at my dear friend’s healing center. This is another environment that I am grateful for as it deeply fulfills my heart. Additionally, I work with a Naturopathic Doctor and assist him in media management.
In college, it became clear to me that I needed to pursue an education in alternative medicine. So I packed my bags and moved to Arizona to get my Certification in Foundational Herbalism from the Herbal Wisdom Institute. While informative, this was only touching the tip of the iceberg. When I found the East-West School of Planetary Herbology in August 2020, I knew that it was the course for me. I had been studying Ayurveda and herbal medicine on my own, so the EWSPH was the all-encompassing perfect fit.
When I’m not working or studying, I adore witnessing and experiencing the expression of life. This looks like making art through various mediums, dancing, movement in general, learning, reading, nature immersion, being, and spending time with those I love.
While I have yet to formulate a clear vision for how to combine what I have learned in this path of healing; in its rawest form, I hope to assist others in their realization that they are their own medicine and that they can reach full vivaciousness and vitality through key practices, herbal allies, and nutrition. At the end of the day, I just want to live as heart-forward as possible and to share that with others.
