007 First Light Hits 4M Sales in 3 Months as IO and Amazon MGM Publish Year-1 Roadmap
IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have shared new sales figures for the James Bond action game 007 First Light, reporting that the title has reached 4 million copies sold worldwide just three months after its official launch. Alongside the numbers, the developers also laid out a detailed first-year post-release roadmap focused on TacSim challenges, new story beats tied to Webb Industries, and gradual gameplay additions including weapons, gadget upgrades, online leaderboards, cosmetics, and potentially a New Game+ mode.
Sales milestone and first-year roadmap
- Three months after official release, 007 First Light has sold 4 million copies globally.
- IO Interactive says it will support the game throughout its first year with regular updates centered on the TacSim mode.
- Planned TacSim updates will add new challenges inside several existing locations, including the Kensington lab, Slovakia’s mountain regions, a black market setting in Mauritania, and the Vietnam luxury resort “The Pearl.”
- Future updates will also expand the narrative, with players tasked with uncovering new information about Webb Industries and investigating a mysterious technology described as a potential serious threat.
- A story mission is slated to take place after the events in Mauritania, requiring Bond’s direct involvement to handle an unexpected alliance between MI6 and “Pirate King” Bawma.
- From a gameplay standpoint, IO Interactive will roll out additional weapons, gadget power-ups, online leaderboards, cosmetic content, and new areas over time.
- The studio has confirmed work is underway on a possible New Game+ mode intended to increase replay value for the main campaign.
