Disney Dreamlight Valley Pixel Perfect Update Hits Switch July 29 With Ralph Story
Disney Dreamlight Valley’s next major update, “Pixel Perfect,” is arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch this Wednesday, July 29. The patch brings a Ralph-centered storyline, multiple new events and shop items, expanded friendship systems (including Best Friends), and a long list of fixes—plus a temporary pause on one Furniture-mode feature for specific platforms.
Key takeaways
- Pixel Perfect launches on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch on July 29, with a Ralph questline as the headline content.
- A new “Pop City Star Path” and multiple seasonal events run through August and September, including Parks-themed weekly puzzle content and a Joy-related returning event.
- Best Friends are added: reach Level 10 Friendship to unlock a daily, limited-time Best Friend hangout and perks.
- Training Manuals will let players change villager roles at any level, and you can gift multiple items at once.
- “Clear Biome” was removed from the Xbox/PlayStation/Steam/Epic builds of Pixel Perfect due to a critical bug, while Nintendo/Apple versions will also be patched via a hotfix in the coming days.
Ralph leads the “Pixel Perfect” quest chain
To begin the Pixel Perfect events, players must unlock The Forgotten and Peter Pan, then complete the quest “The Music on the Wall.” The update’s main arc starts with The Forgotten investigating a glitchy arcade machine near the Dream Castle, which creates additional apparitions before ending up inside Vanellope’s home.
Players will then gather valley items—specifically pies, root beer, and bricks—to repair the arcade and set up a beacon to free Ralph. With the setup complete, the quest progression includes a Bad-Anon meeting, reconnecting with Vanellope, making new friends, and creating a bit of mayhem before everything is fixed for rewards.
Events, Star Path, and new Disney Parks content
The update adds a new Star Path called Pop City, featuring luminous stage pieces and concert-style concert attire. It also introduces a new feline companion tied to the Star Path, plus two additional outfits inspired by characters from Disney’s The Aristocats.
Summer Sizzle returns from August 5 through August 18. During the event, players collect marshmallows, share s’mores with friends, and complete daily valley quests to unlock new rewards—specifically the first ever dock building.
Pixel Perfect also includes a new Parks Floating Festival from August 19 through September 8. Players will explore a thematic floating island inspired by Disney Parks, solve weekly puzzles, and earn magical rewards. Later, from September 16 through September 29, Memory Mania returns with new quests featuring Joy from Disney’s Inside Out, where players will spot differences in memories to unlock a brand-new companion.
Premium shop additions and new furniture/visual features
Pixel Perfect adds a Deluxe Tropical Valley Bundle to the Premium Shop, providing new looks for the Plaza, Dream Castle, Daisy’s Boutique, Chez Remy’s, Scrooge’s Store, and the Valley Visit Station. Alongside it, the Premium Shop introduces a new Environmental Effects item: Meteor Shower Sky, intended to add cosmic showers to the sky for late-night photo moments.
On the cosmetics and companions side, the update includes a Village Schoolhouse Skin with a matching Village Schoolyard Kit, plus a Scholarly Owl companion and an ionic Fantasia Broomstick companion. The Premium Shop will also begin offering premade Presets, with select bundles (including some existing ones) arriving with those premade decorating layouts to make it easier to decorate.
Scrooge McDuck Store weekly items will rotate in new additions such as a Pink Leopard Tank Top, Dreamlight Varsity Jacket, Artist’s Overalls, Enchanted Castle Tuxedo, Crimson Wayfinder Patterned Skirt, and more. Seasonal Moonstone packs will also be available for a limited time.
Biomes, decoration tools, and additional expansion islands
Pixel Perfect introduces new biome-specific crafting recipes that let players create unique furniture sets using ingredients from base-game biomes. It also adds fae-inspired whimsical furniture pieces for Peaceful Meadow.
Decoration improvements include a Quick Save option in Edit Mode, letting players save ongoing decoration changes without using “Save & Exit.”
For Storybook Vale owners, three new floating islands are added. Each island matches a biome theme from the expansion—The Bind, Mythopia, and Everafter.
Friendship overhaul: roles, gifting, fast travel, and Best Friends
Players can now use Training Manuals to change a villager’s role at any level. Crafting recipe adjustments are also included to make Manuals. Gifting quality-of-life improvements let players select multiple individual items from their inventory to gift in one go, and favorite gifts can be re-rolled once per day.
Friendship perks are expanded as well. At Level 7, friends can assist with gathering items: players can pick 1 item tied to a friend’s base role from any unlocked biome, request more collection, and claim item bundles the next day. The system places no limit on how many friends can be asked for help, and friends remain in the valley while they search. At Level 10, players can also use the map to fast travel to any level-10 friend.
Best Friends is the new headline social feature. Once a villager reaches Level 10 Friendship, their Star Icon becomes a Gold Heart progress bar. This daily progress bar resets each day and can only be filled once per day. When it’s filled, players can hang out with their Best Friend and get limited-time perks. The Best Friend Glow lasts for a limited time and unlocks max level role bonuses for all roles; sprinting affects the duration of the glow but not stamina. Best Friend hangouts can be done once per day per villager.
DreamSnaps changes: standardized UI and “Super Vote”
DreamSnaps voting UI is updated so the two images in 1v1 voting occupy the same space, while still allowing full-screen viewing of any image before voting.
A new “Super Vote” option lets players vote for both presented DreamSnaps at the same time. Players receive 2 Super Votes per day.
Events: Olaf’s Grand Exhibition and new rooms
Olaf’s Grand Exhibition opens two new rooms for completion. These rooms are centered on Sunlit Plateau and Frosted Heights, with unique rewards tied to each completion.
Clear Biome feature temporarily disabled on multiple platforms
Pixel Perfect was originally intended to include a “Clear Biome” feature in Furniture mode, but a critical bug was found in that feature. It has been patched out of the Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and Epic versions of the Pixel Perfect update.
The feature remains present in the Nintendo and Apple versions for now, but using it may affect quest progress. Nintendo and Apple players are advised to avoid using Clear Biome until a hotfix is deployed to remove the incompatible feature from Pixel Perfect in the coming days. The feature is planned to return later.
Top changes and bug fixes
Patch fixes include problems with Star Path and Early Adopter bonuses, plus multiple quest and progression issues across the valley and expansion content. The update addresses missing rewards related to the Godly Glamor Star Path Week 5 Vault Furniture Reward, and players missing the Honeyglow Woods Early Adopter Bonus. It also continues prior fixes for Honeyglow Woods adventure pack quests where shopping lists were missing, characters or quest steps were unavailable, and interaction problems blocked progress.
Additional fixes include preventing rewards from being dropped behind objects, correcting quest-breaking behavior when clearing Honey Swirls in Braveheart Grove too early, improving flower respawn timing in Honeyglow Woods, fixing stuck states (including Hercules in “Medicinal Mortality”), correcting missing item spawns (including Purple Fruit not spawning near Cheshire Cat’s Tree), and resolving dialog loops (including Merlin in “The Sunken Ruins”).
Other addressed issues include “Lost and Found” messages containing too many items for inventory space, furniture placement problems on Lava Stone Trail and Crystal Paving Stones, reward-screen dismissal issues with Esc/back controls, and photo mode NPC placement failures in Mythopia.
