Heartopia Call of Whales Guide: All Animal Trough Locations and Foods

animal-trough-locations-heartopia-favorite-35ad

Heartopia is expanding its animal-care routine with the live Call of Whales event, where you’ll be able to locate and feed multiple species across the island. After you complete the “Animal Care” segment in the Town Guide, animal troughs become available—each one tied to a specific critter and used to grow bond level by interacting and feeding. The event route adds at least one new trough focus (including the Dolphin trough) along the way.

Trough visibility requirement Troughs do not appear until the “Animal Care” quest is completed in the Town Guide

To raise bond level, you’ll need to find each animal’s trough (the feeding point for that species). Your bond starts at level 1 for every critter, and it increases through repeated interaction and feeding. Higher bond levels unlock more animal features, such as petting and brushing, gifts delivered to your home, improved gift chances, increased food storage per trough, and better interaction success.

Dolphin Trough location (Call of Whales event)

The Dolphin trough can be found in Whalefall Canyon. The guide lists the preferred foods/conditions as Ocean during all weather, and Zephyr Sea during all weather.

Bunny Trough location

The Bunny trough is tied to the tutorial once you reach animal care via the Town Guide. If you need to find it again, it’s located outside Art Street to the southwest of the central town area. Preferred feeding includes pulling them from your crops while they grow, plus seeds bought from Blanc’s gardening store.

Alpaca Trough location

The Alpaca trough sits just a few steps west of the bridge connecting the lighthouse area to Purple Light Beach. For bonding, the guide points to food found on trees near your home plot.

Panda Trough location

Head to the southeast portion of the Jump Puzzle area to find the Panda trough. The guide indicates harvesting from Forest areas as the preferred source.

Fox Trough location

In the Windmill Flower Field, look a few steps south of the nearby bus stop to locate the Fox trough. The guide lists fox feeding options that involve purchasing from Massimo after unlocking the cooking hobby, plus river catches at any time and in any weather, and another Forest Lake option that works in sun or rainbow conditions (noted as requiring level 4).

Sea Otter Trough location

The Sea Otter trough is south of Fishing Village Square by the water’s edge. Preferred foods/conditions include East Sea all day in any weather, plus river catches at any time and weather. Another listed option is Suburban Lake during rain or rainbow at any time, with a stated requirement of level 3.

Capybara Trough location

Find the Capybara trough a little west of Onsen Mountain Lake on the main yellow path. The guide’s preferred food source is fruit bushes near your home plot.

Sika Deer Trough location

The Sika Deer trough is located north of the bus stop in Spirit Oak Pine Forest. The guide connects progress here to unlocking the cooking hobby and cooking with two vegetables.

Ferret Trough location

To reach the Ferret trough, cross Rosy River by passing over the bridge southwest of the Onsen region. The trough is a few steps south of that bridge. Preferred feeding includes ocean catches at any weather/time, plus East Sea catches from 6 am to 6 pm in any weather, with a stated fishing hobby level requirement of level 4.

With the event live through August 22, the Dolphin trough in Whalefall Canyon is a key stop for anyone working through animal-care bonds during Call of Whales. Just remember: the full set of troughs won’t appear until you’ve completed the Animal Care quest in the Town Guide.
