Dungeons & Dragons Returns to World of Warcraft With Azeroth Adventure in 2026
Dungeons & Dragons is teaming up with World of Warcraft again after nearly 20 years, bringing a full tabletop adventure set to Azeroth. The new crossover is slated for release on November 17, 2026, with Early Access for participating WoW bundles starting on November 3, 2026.
D&D: World of Warcraft crossover bundles and release dates
The announcement follows a prior leak and puts iconic Warcraft figures—such as Arthas, Illidan, and Sylvanas—at the center of a new D&D adventure. Players will be able to access the WoW-linked bundle content beginning November 3, 2026, while the broader D&D set launches later in the month on November 17, 2026.
- Early Access for D&D–WoW bundles: November 3, 2026
- D&D adventure set release: November 17, 2026
- In-game bundle extras include a mount, a pet, a toy, and World of Warcraft housing décor
What’s included: Collector’s Edition details
Alongside standard bundle options, the Collector’s Edition is built to function as a complete D&D rule-and-content package adapted for Warcraft. It uses the modern D&D 5th Edition ruleset (5e/5.5e), while the earlier Warcraft tabletop collaboration—Warcraft: The Roleplaying Game—was based on D&D 3.5.
The Collector’s Edition includes:
- 13 World of Warcraft classes with new rules, including 9 new and reworked subclasses, plus 40+ specializations
- 16 playable races, including Dracthyr, Draenei, Earthen, Voidtouched? (listed as “Verlassene”), Haranir, Mechagnome, Pandaren, Tauren, Trolls, Vulpera, and Worgen (as named in the announcement)
- 60+ new spells and 30+ new magical items, including mounts and companion creatures
- 50+ new monsters and 30 stat blocks for dungeon bosses designed for epic tabletop encounters
- 7 iconic WoW dungeons reimagined for pen-and-paper play: Azjol-Nerub, Blackrock Caverns, The Deadmines, Duskbringer Hollow, Onyxia’s Lair, Scarlet Monastery, and Shadowfang Keep
- 25+ factions with renown rewards to help players build their Azeroth legacy
- Physical D&D Dungeon Master screen
- Physical and digital adventure card set: Icecrown Citadel, with a note that the physical product includes a code to redeem the digital version
- Digital pre-order bonus: a digital dice set (“Eisthron”), character sheet backgrounds and Horde/Alliance frames, a mini-adventure called D&D Encounters: Season of Champions, and a World of Warcraft in-game items code delivered by email at launch
The announcement also notes that a Battle.net account is required for the in-game item codes, and that the World of Warcraft codes will be sent starting November 3, 2026 via a dedicated email.
Bundle formats, Magic: The Gathering question, and what to watch
Multiple purchase editions are planned, including Ultimate and physical-plus-digital variations. After the WoW D&D reveal, some players hoped for a simultaneous Magic: The Gathering “Universes Beyond” set tied to WoW, but nothing additional was confirmed at the time of the announcement.

- Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft – Ultimate Bundle
- Dungeons & Dragons: Physical + Digital bundle – Collector’s Edition
- Dungeons & Dragons: Physical + Digital bundle
Looking ahead, the broader “Universes Beyond” roadmap for 2027 was referenced, and it was stated that additional reveals have not yet been shared. The expectation for more fantasy-themed content in 2027 was also tied to these plans, while a Star Trek release is mentioned for late 2026—pushing a Star Wars–linked outcome further into the realm of possibility. For now, WoW players can focus on the D&D–to-Azeroth crossover, with new classes, races, dungeons, and rules designed to let Dungeon Masters run the setting as a complete tabletop campaign.
