Zenless Zone Zero 3.1 Launches July 29 With Honkai: Star Rail

Zenless Zone Zero is gearing up for its second anniversary with version 3.1, arriving later this month on 29 July. Alongside the usual anniversary freebies and new story content, the update is also set to bring a crossover event with Honkai: Star Rail—an announcement that’s already pointing at shared characters and a broader “cinematic universe” approach.

Version 3.1: Remielle Dan headline, Sigrid follow-up

The update’s main debut is Remielle Dan, who is planned to be available throughout the entire duration of version 3.1. After that, Sigrid is scheduled to arrive in the second phase.

Alongside the new releases, the update will include multiple re-runs. Confirmed returnees include Dialyn, Ukinami Yuzuha, and Asaba Harumasa. Angels of Delusion star Aria is also set to run alongside Remielle Dan during the first half of the update.

Anniversary gacha changes and free S-Rank/W-Engine

HoYoverse is also adjusting the gacha system in version 3.1. The update introduces changes to the “50/50” so that, if players lose the gacha pull, they can choose from a variety of different agents to obtain. The stated goal is to improve team-building outcomes even when luck runs low.

For the second anniversary celebrations, players will receive a free S-Rank character plus their W-Engine. The available options listed for the giveaway include Jane, Soldier 0 Anby, Hugo, Trigger, and Lucia.

Pyrois powers up in a permanent Hollow-inspired mode

Beyond characters and banners, version 3.1 adds a new permanent event mode centered on Pyrois. It’s described as a dungeon-crawler-style experience, drawing inspiration from the original Hollow exploration gameplay from the title’s launch.

Summer seaside minigame and new swimwear rewards

For the summer portion of the anniversary update, Zenless Zone Zero is adding a seaside-themed minigame. Players will comb the beach for seashells, then sell them at a souvenir shop.

Event participation will unlock a free outfit for Lucy. In addition, Remielle Dan and Sigrid are both receiving swimwear as part of the seasonal celebration.

Honkai: Star Rail crossover hinted during the anniversary

The biggest headline tied to the anniversary is a confirmed collaboration with Honkai: Star Rail. The exact details of the crossover aren’t provided yet, but the expectation is that the two games will exchange characters, contributing to a new shared “cinematic universe” concept.

More information on the collaboration is expected later in the year, but version 3.1 is positioned as the start of that larger crossover rollout. Players will also have the new banners, re-runs, and anniversary events to dig into when the update drops on 29 July.
