The Dungeon Crawler Carl franchise is expanding fast: a live-action TV adaptation is now officially in the works, and a Dungeon Crawler Carl tabletop RPG is scheduled to launch in December 2026. In the meantime, there’s a new free browser-style flash game tied to the universe that launched recently—and it’s built around a candy tie-in that fans can play right now.

Free flash game lands with Princess Donut-style “Pew!” voice acting

The new game is titled Mama’s Night Off, described as a Princess Donut-inspired flash experience created in collaboration with Maeve Chocolate. Gameplay is straightforward for a flash title: the player controls Princess Donut, who shoots magic missiles at falling cherries. Each missile shot includes an audible “Pew!” sound effect, voiced by audiobook narrator Jeff Hays—the same narrator associated with the Dungeon Crawler Carl audio series.

The flash game went live about a week before this announcement, hosted on the Maeve Chocolate website. It was also publicized via a post on the Dungeon Crawler Carl subreddit.

Promo for Maeve Chocolate’s “Virgin Dirty Shirley” bar

Mama’s Night Off is positioned as a promotional tie-in for Maeve Chocolate’s newly announced Virgin Dirty Shirley chocolate bar, which is inspired by Princess Donut’s favorite drink. Maeve Chocolate’s official synopsis for the candy bar explains that it features dark chocolate made with “sustainably sourced” ingredients, a creamy white chocolate center, and is filled with sweet dried cherries and popping candy described as adding fizzy “magic.”

The company also includes a line framing the inspiration in-character, saying that Donut would likely ask, “Carl, if my chocolate doesn’t sparkle, what are we even doing here?”

Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG is already building momentum for December 2026

While Mama’s Night Off is the first playable Dungeon Crawler Carl game tied to the franchise to arrive in this particular form, it isn’t the only adaptation scheduled. The upcoming Dungeon Crawler Carl Roleplaying Game is set for December 2026.

That RPG has already shown strong demand: it originally launched as a crowdfunding campaign in collaboration with Renegade Studios, running through Backerkit and raising a very large amount. After the crowdfunding push, the core rule book and miniatures moved into preorders on Amazon, where the RPG remains listed among the best-selling tabletop games on the site.

The RPG product line includes the core rule book, multiple miniature sets (Set I, Set 2, Set 3), and a starter set.
