The Spanish forward said Pogba played a major part in helping him settle during their time together in the 2025-26 campaign. Pogba’s ability to speak Spanish made life easier for Fati as he adapted to French football following his departure from Barcelona.
“For me, he is an older brother,” Fati said. “He helped me enormously last year, especially because his Spanish is very good and that made everything easier.”
Pogba, a World Cup winner with France, left Monaco during the summer, but the relationship has continued away from the club. Fati said the pair make time to talk whenever their schedules allow, with their conversations ranging beyond football.
“We speak about the game, but we also discuss life,” he added.
Fati is now fit again after a calf injury and is targeting a place in Monaco’s starting XI. His league involvement has been limited so far, although his contribution against CSKA Sofia helped secure a 2-1 Conference League victory.
He also backed Pogba to return to the field soon as the midfielder prepares for the next stage of his career.
“I hope he is back quickly and can enjoy playing again,” Fati said.
