Baldur’s Gate 3 Viral “No Survivors” Act 1 Run Stashes Corpses, Lags Out
A Baldur’s Gate 3 player run has gone viral for an unusually grim “no survivors” approach: after nearly finishing Act 1, they’ve killed every bystander they encountered and stored the bodies at camp—until the game started lagging when they opened their chest.
Act 1 kill run and the “Traveller’s Chest” full of corpses
- On July 22, a player using the X handle “spectraIarrow” posted that they and a friend were doing a Baldur’s Gate 3 run where they kill every person they come across.
- They said the plan was to store each corpse at camp as they progressed, and that they were nearing the end of Act 1 when the problem became noticeable.
- In the post, they explained that the game lagged when they opened the Traveller’s Chest because it contained so many bodies.
- The image shared with the post shows the Traveller’s Chest packed with corpses, including members of the Tiefling grove.
- Among the stored dead were Wyll and Karlach’s severed head.
- The chest was also filled with the inhabitants of the Goblin Camp, with Halsin included as part of the haul.
Oath of Devotion Paladin plan derailed
The same player described that they hadn’t entered the run expecting to go this far. They said they had a different roleplay idea in mind—an Oath of Devotion Paladin whose guardian was made to resemble Lathander—but that the “oath broke QUICK,” making future “guardian” visits “a bit awkward.”
Reactions from the community and Larian’s CEO
The post drew significant attention, reaching around 16,000 likes at the time it was being discussed. The player also reposted a video highlighting the story from Dexerto’s Instagram feed, writing “no fucking way.”
Larian CEO Swen Vincke then reposted the comment, replying that Larian “should’ve made that an achievement,” adding “real funny.”
