In remarks shared by Bandai Namco Entertainment president Nao Udagawa, the Digimon IP is described as having achieved record-breaking profits. He also frames this as a new high point, surpassing the franchise’s earlier best period associated with the animated Adventure run.
In an interview with Weekly Famitsu, Bandai Namco highlights two major factors behind the performance: strong sales for games sold digitally, and ongoing demand for Digimon Card Game. Within that picture, the company singles out Digimon Story: Time Stranger as the key success.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger reached more than one million copies worldwide in roughly two months after its release. Bandai Namco specifies that the launch was in October 2025, and it presents the speed of hitting the milestone as something the franchise had not managed before.
Looking ahead, Bandai Namco also says there is room for further growth. It points to recent Nintendo Switch versions as an additional growth lever, and it also confirms a larger DLC planned for 2027.
