Beware GTA 6 PC Pirate ISO Scams: Malicious Trap Spotted on Torrent Sites
Another wave of GTA 6 leak-related scams is circulating online: a “GTA 6 for PC” pirate ISO has been spotted on shady download channels, and security checks indicate it’s a malicious trap designed to harm anyone who tries to install it.

The file appears as a disk image labeled like a PC release, despite the fact that a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6 does not exist officially at this time. Multiple users flagged the upload after seeing it spread through social media chatter and file-sharing circles, warning that it contains malware rather than any usable game build.
Reverse engineering reportedly shows the ISO is engineered to interfere with Windows security and execution. One user who analyzed the package claimed the decompiled bytecode includes instructions that add the “entire unit C:\” to Windows Defender’s exclusion list via PowerShell, using an Add-MpPreference command with an exclusion path pointing at the system drive.
That same analysis also alleges the installer attempts to disable security software by forcefully terminating protective processes using a taskkill command.
Size alone is also presented as a red flag. The investigation suggests it isn’t real “game code” totaling 100+ GB; instead, it contains a very small malicious payload—described as roughly a 50 KB virus—padded with largely useless data (including an “infinite series of zeros”). That padding is likely meant to make the download look legitimate and substantial, even though the dangerous component is tiny.
While the scam is spreading, GTA 6 leak activity continues in parallel. Additional video material has also been reported recently, and the leak account is said to have moved toward selling ad space. Even with that ongoing noise, Rockstar is not changing course on the planned GTA 6 Netflix event timing, which remains fixed for Thursday, August 27.
