BLAST Bounty Season 2 Kicks Off for CS2, Sets Malta Playoff Field
The second half of the first-tier Counter-Strike 2 season has kicked off with Season 2 of BLAST Bounty, setting up the next stop on the LAN calendar in Malta. Eight quarterfinalists have earned their places for the playoffs there, while early tournament-wide stats highlight which teams, players, maps, and weapons drove the most impact so far.
Season 2 BLAST Bounty: the Malta LAN field is set
Season 2 included 32 teams in total. After the quarterfinals, eight squads qualified for the LAN finals in Malta: Team Spirit, The MongolZ, 3DMAX, paiN Gaming, MOUZ, Astralis, Team Liquid, and FaZe Clan.
What the numbers say about teams and top performers
On team rating, the strongest showings belonged to Team Liquid, MOUZ, and FaZe Clan, in that order, with ratings of 1.20, 1.19, and 1.16.
Individually, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets posted the best player rating across six maps at 1.55. Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski finished second with 1.49, while Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás took third on the player rating podium, with MOUZ’s torzsi recording a 1.48 rating.
Weapons, maps, and standout statistical categories
Weapon choices stayed heavily centered on AK-47: it was the most frequently purchased rifle at 34.85%. The next most common pick was M4A1-S at 13.04%. AWP ranked third in popularity, with 11.79%, not far behind the M4 series.
Map play was led by Dust2, which hosted 13 games. Ancient and Nuke were tied for second place, with 10 matches each. Mirage and Cache followed with nine and eight games respectively. The least played were Anubis (six matches) and Inferno (four matches).
Several players also stood out in specific performance metrics. FaZe Clan’s Jakub “jcobbbie” Pietruszewski placed third in headshots landed (65). He was also fourth for headshots per round (0.61) and recorded a round swing of +4.15%. Miłosz “mhL” Knasiak ranked third for success in opening duels, winning 80%.
