Carrarese have completed the free-transfer signing of former Paris Saint-Germain right-back Colin Dagba, tying the 27-year-old to a contract running until 30 June 2028.

The deal includes an automatic renewal clause should Dagba meet agreed performance conditions. He arrives in Serie B after leaving Belgian club Beerschot on 1 July, with Carrarese adding a player who has played at Champions League level to Gabriele Cioffi’s defensive options.

Dagba, a former France Under-21 international born in 1998, made 77 first-team appearances for PSG in all competitions, including seven in the Champions League. During his spell in Paris, he won three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies and two Trophee des Champions, before later loan spells with Strasbourg and Auxerre.

Carrarese highlighted the defender’s pace, attacking contribution and technical quality, while also pointing to his reliability in defensive marking. The move gives Dagba a fresh chance to regain momentum in Italy after his departure from Beerschot.

What happens next

Carrarese are 14th in Serie B after taking one point from their first two matches. Dagba could be in line for an immediate debut when Cioffi’s side host Empoli on 5 September, with the home game offering Carrarese the chance to claim their first league victory of the campaign.
