CS2 August Update Fixes Excessive Wall-Movement Speed in Counter-Strike 2
Valve is rolling out another Counter-Strike 2 update in August, this time addressing a gameplay issue alongside refreshing community content. The patch updates a CS2 map to the latest version available from the Community Workshop and also includes a fix aimed at movement behavior near walls.
CS2 update reduces excessive speed when moving along walls
The change targets a bug where a player’s movement speed could become too high when moving in close proximity to walls. With this update, that unintended acceleration has been corrected, bringing wall-adjacent movement back in line with expected behavior.
In addition to the gameplay fix, Valve also updated the affected map to the newest Community Workshop revision, ensuring it matches the latest workshop version currently available. The release notes for this update were published alongside the announcement on August 20, 2026.
