Luto is Epic’s first first-person entry in its lineup, centering on the fear of being unable to leave your home. The game leans heavily into psychological horror ideas—dreams, secrets, love, loss, and regret—placing you in the role of someone who can’t escape their own walls. As you move through the experience, it aims to “test your senses,” guiding you into an “enigmatic place” with labyrinth-like routes full of hidden information.
Atmosphere is a major part of the pitch. Luto features a “gnawing” and screeching soundtrack alongside uneasy narration, with the expectation that you’ll keep feeling uneasy even after you stop playing—especially when everything gets darker.
Echo Generation serves as the other free pick for the week, dropping players into a 1990s setting where the focus is on solving mysteries. Like Luto, it’s available to claim during the same limited time window, and once claimed it stays in your Epic library even after the promotion ends.
