Estevao Scores and Assists as Brazil Thrash India 4-0 in Friendly
Estevao marked his Brazil return with a goal and an assist as Carlo Ancelotti’s side swept India aside 4-0 in a friendly at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium.
Estevao delivers in Brazil win
The 19-year-old forward opened the scoring in the 27th minute, then set up Pedro with a well-weighted pass as Brazil took control of the match. His pace, close control and combinations in the final third repeatedly exposed India’s back line.
It was Estevao’s first goal for Brazil since November 2025, following a period disrupted by injuries that kept him out during the March international window and the World Cup campaign.
- Brazil beat India 4-0 in Kolkata.
- Estevao scored Brazil’s first goal after 27 minutes.
- He also supplied the assist for Pedro’s strike.
- The winger has now scored six times for Brazil under Ancelotti.
- Only Vinicius Junior, on eight goals, has scored more in the current squad tally.
Winger thanks Ancelotti for trust
Estevao said regular minutes for Brazil were essential as he works his way back to full sharpness, and praised Ancelotti for continuing to back him.
“It is always an honour to help the national team, to score and to play,” Estevao said. “The coach trusts me and I try to show that on the pitch. Playing minutes, particularly for Brazil, mean a lot, and they were important for getting my rhythm back.”
The teenager has become an increasingly important option for Ancelotti, but he insisted Brazil must refine their game despite a productive international break.
“We know there is still a lot for us to improve,” he said. “We leave this break with two victories and a draw. We understand what has to improve and we will work on it in the next call-ups.”
What comes next for Brazil
Estevao played a major role throughout the FIFA Super Date, including a start in the 1-1 draw with Australia in Townsville and the victory over India. Brazil finished the three-match spell with two wins and one draw.
- Estevao will now return to club duty.
- Brazil’s next friendlies are scheduled against Singapore and Japan in Singapore.
- The match against Japan is set for November 14.
- Estevao will be aiming to extend his scoring run and establish himself as a regular starter.
