The Coalition has announced the rewards planned for players who take part in the open beta of Gears of War: E-Day. Beyond testing the new Horde Siege mode, participants can complete specific challenges to unlock cosmetic items that will be tied to their account and carried over when the game launches.

How the open beta rewards work

  • Progress-based unlocks: Rewards are earned as you progress through the open beta.
  • Account carryover: Items unlocked during the beta remain linked to your account.
  • Launch conversion: Once the full game releases, unlocked rewards automatically move into your inventory.

All open beta exclusive rewards

  • Mags “epic” skin with explosive damage — Reach Player Level 20.
  • Weapon skins set “Crush the Bug” (Rare) — Successfully extract from Horde Siege 8 times on Infantry difficulty or higher.
  • “Crush the Bug” banner — Get 25 headshots.
  • “Crush the Bug” emblem — Complete 10 revives on teammates.
  • “Crush the Bug” icon — Kill 5 enemies using the Prototype Lancer
  • Open Beta Medal and the title “First in the Fight” — Available to all players who participate in the multiplayer open beta.

What you unlock will also be in the final game

The Coalition confirmed that these beta cosmetics won’t be limited to the test period. After you earn them, they will transfer to Gears of War: E-Day when it launches, becoming exclusive items for players who joined the open beta.
