Iraola’s Liverpool Gains Momentum After Brighton Win

Andoni Iraola has beaten Brighton, a result that has immediately invited comparisons with Arne Slot’s breakthrough two years earlier.

Quick facts

• Iraola’s side have recorded a win against Brighton.
• Slot’s project began to gather momentum after beating Brighton two years ago.
• The latest result raises the question of whether Iraola has reached a similar turning point.

Victory over Brighton can carry more weight than three points when it arrives at the right moment. For Iraola, it offers a potential marker after a period of work aimed at establishing his approach.

Slot’s win against the same opposition became an early launchpad for his project. Iraola will now look to make sure this result is followed by the consistency needed to turn one notable performance into sustained progress.
