Mbappe Refuses to Push Bayern Munich Star Michael Olise Towards Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe has ruled out any attempt to persuade Michael Olise to join Real Madrid, insisting it would be wrong to encourage the Bayern Munich winger away from a club he rates highly.

Madrid monitored the 24-year-old France international during a busy summer in which they completed seven additions, but their pursuit did not produce a deal. Olise, who arrived at Bayern in 2024, chose to continue in Munich and has three years left on his contract.

Mbappe followed the speculation while away with France and drew on his own experience of repeated transfer stories during his Paris Saint-Germain spell.

“I know that kind of situation very well,” Mbappe said. “There were endless rumours when I played for PSG. It would not be respectful to tell a player he should leave. It would not be fair to Bayern, especially because Bayern are a great club and Michael can achieve plenty there.”

Madrid’s interest and Bayern’s position

Olise was a major target for Los Blancos before they redirected their attention to Yan Diomande. His ability to create and beat opponents from the right would offer a different attacking balance in a Madrid squad whose leading players generally prefer central areas or the left.

Mbappe nevertheless made clear how highly he rates his international teammate. “Every club in the world would want Michael Olise,” he said. “He is an exceptional player.”

A later Madrid move for Olise cannot be ruled out, but there is no immediate deal on the table. Bayern retain a key attacking player, while Madrid are already heavily stocked in forward areas.

Jose Mourinho must now find the right blend between Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Diomande, rather than add another marquee attacker. Integrating the seven arrivals into a balanced side will be central to Madrid’s domestic and European ambitions this term.
