Morgan Gibbs-White has been handed an England opportunity after Cole Palmer’s withdrawal, with the Nottingham Forest captain targeting a larger role in Thomas Tuchel’s plans during fixtures against Spain, Czechia and Croatia over the next two weeks.
England opening arrives after Palmer setback

Former Forest figure Des Walker believes Gibbs-White does not need to leave the City Ground for a regular Champions League club to improve his international prospects.
Walker pointed to Elliot Anderson becoming an England regular while representing Forest as evidence that Tuchel will select players from outside the traditional elite if their performances warrant it. He also noted that James Maddison’s switch from Leicester to Tottenham did not guarantee his continued place with England.
The former defender believes Gibbs-White’s challenge is to deliver his best level across a full season, rather than relying on a strong late run. He accepts that Palmer’s absence has given the Forest man a fortunate opening, but insists one commanding England display could rapidly change the pecking order.
