Nintendo Download July 23 Adds Splatoon Raiders to Switch 2 and More Music

Nintendo’s latest eShop update is focused on two fronts: the new single-player action release Splatoon Raiders landing on Nintendo Switch 2, and a steady roll of music and catalog additions across Nintendo Music. On the system side, there are also new downloadable titles listed for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch this week, along with a limited-time Nintendo Switch Online offer and a timed network test for an upcoming game.

New game: Splatoon Raiders brings a bot-backed raid style to Switch 2

Splatoon Raiders is now available on Nintendo Switch 2. The game is described as a single-player-focused action experience where you play as a mechanic working alongside Deep Cut, a trio of swashbuckling musicians. Players set out to explore the Spirhalite Islands, customizing their character, equipping mechanical gadgets, and using ink-splattering weapons.

The core gameplay loop centers on taking on waves of enemy Salmonids while raiding for treasure. Deep Cut support is built in beyond your character: one member of Deep Cut raids with you through a powerful bot, and you can also bring in up to three additional players online or via local wireless.

Nintendo Music adds new playlists and soundtracks

On the music side, Nintendo Music is expanding with Oh, Banana! The Donkey Kong Bananza and additional Mario Kart playlist content. The Donkey Kong soundtrack swings onto Nintendo Music with tracks highlighted from Donkey Kong’s latest adventure, including “Ingot Isle Falls,” “Forest Layer: Bellhop Burb,” and “Banandium Root Tower.”

For players who are also gearing up for Splatoon Raiders, Nintendo is also offering a special release of some tracks from the game through Nintendo Music.

Finally, two new playlists are being added for Mario Kart World content: Free Roam with Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Free Roam with Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.

Network test registration opens for The Duskbloods

Nintendo has opened a timed registration window for The Duskbloods Network Test. Interested players can register starting immediately and continuing until July 28 at 6:59 a.m. PT. The test itself is scheduled for Aug. 21 through Aug. 24.

Eligibility requirements are specific: you must have a Nintendo Switch 2 system and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership in order to apply and participate.

My Nintendo rewards and a Splatoon-themed sweepstakes

To celebrate the launch of Splatoon Raiders, Nintendo is offering a way to earn My Nintendo Platinum Points. Players can sign in with their Nintendo Account, answer a prompt on the rewards page, and claim a bounty of 30 Platinum Points.

Separately, Nintendo is running a My Nintendo Splatoon Raiders Beach Day Sweepstakes with island-themed prizes. The sweepstakes ends on Sept. 22 at 11 p.m. PT.

This week’s eShop listings include a set of new titles on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Switch Online promotion has a hard end date

Nintendo is also running a limited-time offer for Switch Online subscribers: a free bonus month of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack when purchasing or redeeming a 12-month individual or family membership. Current Nintendo Switch Online and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members can also take advantage of the promotion.

The deal ends July 28 at 11:59 p.m. PT, making it the most time-sensitive item in this update beyond the network test registration window.

What’s still unclear: the weekly update lists new releases and timed events, but it doesn’t provide detailed patch notes or performance changes for any existing games. Players looking at Splatoon Raiders will also want to confirm any additional post-launch plans beyond the initial availability and music/points promotions included this week.
