PCG Garage Launches Monthly Sim-Racing Show Covering iRacing, Assetto Corsa
A new monthly sim-racing show is shining a spotlight on the fastest-growing corner of PC competition: “PCG Garage.” The format, created for PC players who race in sims as well as those curious about getting started, delivers fresh coverage on major titles including iRacing, RaceRoom, Assetto Corsa, and more—alongside discussion of the wider racing ecosystem.
Each episode is led by editor and motorsport specialist Michi Grünwald, who focuses on current scene news and then goes deeper into a specific topic related to virtual motorsport. The program aims to cover the core racing simulations across the genre—from iRacing to Le Mans Ultimate and Assetto Corsa—while also addressing what newcomers should choose first and what experienced sim racers can expect moving forward.
Beyond the main simulations, PCG Garage regularly looks at how sim racing compares with more arcade-style experiences and simcade products. That broader lens includes questions like why there has not been a hardcore simulation of Formula 1, and where the biggest gaps lie between arcade entertainment and realism.
What the series has covered so far
The show has already released multiple episodes, building a library that ranges from foundational concepts to endurance and niche simulation topics. Past installments include a look at the appeal of sim racing, coverage of the DTM in racing simulations, a rally-focused episode centered on the challenge of the discipline, and a dedicated feature on iRacing. Other episodes have targeted guidance for beginners, the relationship between Formula 1 and sim racing, dynamic weather systems, and the major problems faced by motorcycle racing simulations. The lineup also includes a discussion of what makes 24-hour racing so compelling and an episode centered on the GT3 class.
PCG Garage also incorporates additional voices when appropriate. Content creators, developers, and people from the automotive industry are invited in between the regular segments to share their perspectives on sim racing. In parallel, hardware coverage is handled by PCGH colleague Frank Stöwer, who tests and presents sim-racing gear such as rigs, steering wheels, pedals, and shifters across different price tiers, with the goal of helping viewers pick the right peripherals for their home cockpit.
PCG Garage is published once per month and is available both on the PCG Garage page at pcgames.de and via YouTube. On YouTube, the series has its own playlist. The show encourages feedback and suggestions for future topics, as well as viewers to share which sim they race in and what equipment they use.
