Prince Abdulaziz opened the meeting by setting out plans to push Arab football forward at every level. The newly approved committees will be responsible for helping UAFA deliver those plans over the coming four years.

The board also examined the Challenge and Innovation Initiative, a development scheme intended to bring modern technology into different areas of the Arab game. New development tournaments are central to that project.

UAFA Secretary General Dr Raja Allah Al Sulami presented an update on the organisation’s technical and administrative position, while officials also considered the wider competition structure for 2026/27.

That proposed schedule covers both club football and national-team competitions, with the association now preparing to move from planning into implementation.

Elsewhere, the board endorsed FIFA’s current cooperation work with national, regional and continental associations. It also renewed its backing for FIFA president Gianni Infantino, praising his 10 years in the role and pointing to football’s wider global reach, efforts to unite the game and focus on players and fans.

What happens next: UAFA will use its new committee structure to develop the technology-led initiatives and finalise work around the 2026/27 football calendar, while maintaining its cooperative relationship with FIFA.
