Xbox Adds Ubisoft Connect Console-to-PC Entitlements for Xbox Owners at No Extra Cost
Xbox has expanded its long-running partnership with Ubisoft by adding premium editions for Xbox players and, more importantly, a console-to-PC entitlement feature through Ubisoft Connect. If you already own the digital Xbox console version of certain Ubisoft titles, you can access the PC versions at no extra cost—an option that does not work in reverse for players who only own the PC releases.
Release timing and what’s included
Xbox shared the update on Tuesday, July 28. The console-to-PC access feature is rolling out to existing owners via a “progressive rollout period” and is expected to continue until next week Tuesday, August 4.

Which Ubisoft games qualify for free PC access
Xbox says the offer applies when you own “the digital Xbox console version” of select games. For that qualifying group, the PC version can be accessed through Ubisoft Connect “at no additional cost.” The titles listed are:

Important limitation: PC purchases don’t unlock the console version
Xbox also clarified the direction of the entitlement: owning the PC digital version does not automatically grant the console digital version “for free.” In other words, the free PC access path is tied to having the digital Xbox console version for the listed games.
Player impact: moving between console and PC without repurchasing
For players who own these Ubisoft games on Xbox (and plan to play on PC as well), the Ubisoft Connect link is the key change. Instead of treating the PC release as a separate purchase, eligible owners can claim the PC version through Ubisoft Connect during the rollout period.
Xbox also noted that its broader Ubisoft partnership will bring premium editions across franchises such as Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, plus “selected add-on content” for Xbox’s PC app—though the console-to-PC entitlement list above is the most concrete, time-bound piece of the update.
What’s still unclear
Xbox did not specify whether the rollout will be tied to each individual Ubisoft account, how quickly entitlements appear for every eligible owner, or how add-on content is handled within Ubisoft Connect for these titles. The company’s stated endpoint for the progressive rollout is Tuesday, August 4.
