FISSURE Playground 3 Set for Sep 8

FISSURE has officially announced the third edition of its Playground tournament series, set to take place in September 2026. The event has been moved to Suzhou, China, where 16 teams will compete across six days for a total prize pool of $1,250,000.

The tournament is scheduled for September, with the third installment arriving a little over a month from now. FISSURE says it will run the event in partnership with Chinese production company GGMEDIA, marking a relationship that organizers describe as long-term and strategic.

There’s also a clear location shift. What had been known earlier under the “FISSURE Playground 5” branding is being staged in Suzhou, and not in Shenzhen as originally planned. Suzhou’s population is listed as around 12 million, and the city is described as being under 100 kilometers from Shanghai.

Across September 8 to September 13, 16 teams will compete. The overall prize pool is $1,250,000, with $165,000 going to the top team. An additional $135,000 is earmarked as “Club share.”

FISSURE also published an initial lineup of teams expected to participate. The list below is described as a provisional set based on Valve rankings as of August 5, with teams able to decline their invitations.

FISSURE’s announcement frames the GGMEDIA partnership as something extending beyond this single LAN. Organizers say the plan includes recurring high-level events in China on a yearly basis.
