What Hasbro is aiming to capture
Billy Lagor, President of Toys and Board Games at Hasbro, described the appeal of the franchise and what the collaboration is trying to bring to the table. He said:
“For decades, The Legend of Zelda franchise has captivated fans through its deep lore, unforgettable characters and enduring sense of discovery. By combining Nintendo’s iconic storytelling with Hasbro’s leadership in action and role-play, we’re delivering toys that invite fans to play, explore and forge their own epic adventures.”
Zelda’s busy stretch: anniversary, Switch 2 remake, and a live-action film
Beyond the toy news, The Legend of Zelda is in the middle of a major run of releases and milestones. The series is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, which began in February.
Later this year, a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch 2.
And further down the road, the first live-action Legend of Zelda movie is also moving through its schedule. The release date has shifted, but it is presently planned for a May 7, 2027 premiere.
