Prinny Party: Going Overboard Announced for Switch 2 and Switch in 2026
NIS America and Nippon Ichi Software have revealed Prinny Party: Going Overboard, a new party game headed to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. The title is slated for release in 2026, with Japan already set to launch on November 12.
Prinny Party: Going Overboard is built around board-game brawling. You’ll move across a shared map, fight off demons, earn experience, and buy gear as you work toward a final showdown against the Supreme Overboard.
Quick facts
- New party game: Prinny Party: Going Overboard
- Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch
- Release window: 2026 (Japan launch date: November 12)
- Goal: team up to defeat the Supreme Overboard and his Protago-Knights
- Core loop: roam the board, gain experience, upgrade equipment, and complete quests
- Boss moments: when a boss appears, players must cooperate to take it down
- Multiplayer pressure: only the player who triggers the boss gets credit
In this game, you and your group are determined to bring down the Supreme Overboard—along with his Protago-Knights. Gameplay revolves around simple steps: travel around the board, rack up experience, improve your loadout, and cash in quests to stay competitive. When a boss finally shows up, the party has to coordinate and beat it together.
Still, the game’s “friendship” vibe doesn’t last. Credit for spawning a boss goes only to the player who brings it into the fight, meaning the person who sets the encounter in motion is the one who gets recognized. In other words, you’ll want to act like a hero—because everyone else will be looking for their own advantage.
Expect plenty of tossing, trading punches, and general chaos on the way to victory. Just make sure you don’t get taken out all at once—if everyone goes down together, it’s game over for the whole group.
Key gameplay features
- Huck, Chuck, Boom! Pick up and throw friends, enemies, and “frenemies” to send them where they belong. As with any Prinnies-related situation, keep a close eye on how things go when you’re handling them.
- Build a Better Tomorrow: Landing on build spaces lets you construct and upgrade facilities, including options like hospitals or armories. Be aware that other players can visit those same shops as well.
- It Pays to Pass Some Bills: Use the Assembly’s bills to stack advantages—triple your damage, get an extra move, or even build a cannon strong enough to wipe out top-tier demons.
A first look trailer has been announced, and the teams have shared that initial video as the next step in the campaign. A separate update will follow when the release date for the western regions is confirmed.
