What BioEden tasks you to do
Players take on the role of a Keeper working for the Cosmic Collective to heal a planet that has been waiting to recover. The core loop centers on turning scattered debris into usable materials, then building a self-sustaining network of structures that can support both production and environmental recovery.
- Start with debris: Search the land for debris sites and recycle them into resources.
- Build utility systems: Establish a solar energy system to generate electricity and a water system to distribute power across your buildings.
- Manage demand and supply: Connect structures into a network and keep production balanced as your needs change.
- Plan for environmental costs: Adding structures consumes resources, uses energy, and increases pollution—so players must balance creation, exploration, and restraint.
- Reclaim and restore: Recycle buildings after they’ve served their purpose, purify lakes and rivers, recover ruins, and restore soil so life can return.
Dozens of species, DNA, and guild choices
BioEden also focuses heavily on bringing extinct animals back to life. Within a dome, players welcome back dozens of species, each requiring different care conditions.
- Species care: Support each animal’s needs by adjusting temperature, humidity, and vegetation.
- Revival process: Collect DNA samples, place cocoons, and nurture them until species flourish.
- Five guilds: The Cosmic Collective’s system includes five distinct Guilds, each with its own identity, abilities, and archetype.
- Different approaches: Guild choice changes your methods and philosophy while keeping the overarching goal of healing the planet the same.
No fail pressure and a slow, restorative pace
In keeping with its cozy direction, BioEden is designed to be played at a calm tempo. The game emphasizes discovery and long-term transformation rather than punishment.
- No fail states: Players won’t face failure conditions.
- Low-pressure play: The experience is framed around exploration and satisfaction from watching the world change through your decisions.
- Nature-forward atmosphere: The game leans into relaxing, ambient nature sounds while you tend and observe your restored landscape.
BioEden will be available on the Nintendo eShop at launch. A trailer is also planned for viewers ahead of release.
