Ange-Yoan Bonny came off the bench to score Inter’s third goal in a 3-1 comeback win at Bologna, sealing the result in the 83rd minute after the Nerazzurri had recovered from an early setback.

Bonny makes immediate impact in Inter turnaround

Inter trailed when Tommaso Pobega struck early for Bologna, but Marcus Thuram brought Cristian Chivu’s side level before the interval with a forceful header.

Chivu introduced Bonny during the second half and the French forward added pace and direct running to Inter’s attack. Carlos Augusto completed the initial recovery in the 69th minute, putting Inter ahead before Bonny made certain of the points.

  1. Pobega gave Bologna an early lead.
  2. Thuram equalised before half-time with a powerful header.
  3. Carlos Augusto put Inter in front in the 69th minute.
  4. Bonny had a goal ruled out for offside.
  5. Two minutes later, Bonny converted Augusto’s low delivery to make it 3-1.

Disallowed effort did not stop decisive finish

Bonny’s final goal arrived after a sharp Inter move involving Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Augusto. Augusto drove a low ball into the area and Bonny finished from close range.

The strike came just two minutes after Bonny had seen an earlier attempt chalked off for offside, underlining the substitute’s quick response rather than frustration.

Inter demand squad depth through packed month

Bonny said Inter’s ability to recover in difficult away matches comes from the group’s mentality.

“The team has a great, great spirit and it is not the first time we have come back in a match,” he said. “We reacted in the right way and we are all happy with the win.”

With Serie A and European commitments creating a match schedule of roughly one game every three days, Bonny said every member of the squad must be prepared to influence games.

“Everyone obviously wants to play, but there are many strong players in this team,” he said. “It is an important month, with matches every three days, and everybody must be ready to make a difference.”

He added that Inter must improve in Europe despite their work on the training ground, saying the team need to represent the club better in continental competition.

What the win means for Bonny

  • Bonny’s late finish completed Inter’s 3-1 recovery at Bologna.
  • His second-half display strengthened his case for more regular involvement under Chivu.
  • Assistant coach Aleksandar Kolarov praised Bonny and Augusto as professionals who lift those around them.
  • Inter now turn towards a demanding run of domestic and European fixtures.

Kolarov described Bonny and Augusto as “true champions who pull the others along,” with both players central to the second-half swing. Inter will now seek to carry that momentum into their next Serie A and European assignments.
