Bournemouth Set Unwanted Mark in Brentford 2-2 Draw

Bournemouth were held to a 2-2 draw by Brentford after Kevin Schade punished a Djordje Petrovic error to complete his brace, while Ben Gannon-Doak struck the woodwork in stoppage time.

Schade put Brentford ahead before Justin Kluivert brought Bournemouth level.
Marcus Tavernier scored soon after half-time to give the Cherries the lead, but Petrovic’s mistake allowed Schade to make it 2-2.
Bournemouth have now led in each of their first four Premier League matches without winning any, a new unwanted competition record.
The Cherries sit 15th and remain without a league victory this season.
Brentford are unbeaten in nine Premier League meetings with Bournemouth, winning five and drawing four. The Bees have also matched their four-match unbeaten opening from 2023-24.
Bournemouth boss Rose said his side responded well after falling behind for the first time this term, arguing they had more possession and chances. Brentford head coach Andrews admitted his team did not reach its usual level but praised Schade as “electric”.

Bournemouth travel to Real Sociedad for their Europa League opener on Thursday, September 17. They return to Premier League duty three days later, when Liverpool visit the Vitality Stadium.
