Breath of the Wild: Revive Your Horse at Malanya’s Great Fairy Fountain

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, your horse isn’t just a convenience—it’s a companion that can be lost if it takes fatal damage or falls from a cliff. The game doesn’t leave you stranded, though: you can bring horses back to life by visiting a specific Great Fairy fountain tied to Malanya.

Where to revive a horse in Breath of the Wild

The process requires finding the Great Fairy fountain associated with Malanya. While there are four Great Fairy sources across Hyrule, there’s also a “secret” one placed at a particular location around the map. At that location, you’ll find the fountain of Malanya.

What you need to do (and how much it costs)

1. Travel to the secret Malanya fountain location around Hyrule.
2. Pay the required entrance fee of 1,000 Rupees to unlock the fountain.
3. After paying, the fountain’s “cocoon” opens, granting access to the deity who oversees horses across Hyrule.
4. When a horse dies, return to Malanya to have it revived.

Once Malanya is unlocked, she becomes the go-to place to restore fallen horses—so if your mount is killed by your own mistake or by a dangerous fall, you’ll know exactly where to recover it.
