Estevao dismisses Chelsea rift talk amid limited minutes under Alonso

Estevao has played down talk of a rift with Chelsea manager Alonso, insisting he is concentrating on training and making an impact whenever he is selected during Brazil’s trip to Australia.

Estevao responds to limited Chelsea role

The 19-year-old forward has had only 23 minutes of Premier League action across Chelsea’s opening five league matches. His starts this season have been restricted to the EFL Cup, despite expectations that he would take on a more regular role after his first year adjusting to English football.

Speaking while away with Brazil, Estevao avoided escalating the issue publicly. He said every coach has a distinct style and stressed that he can only control his own work and performances.

“I work every day and try to give everything,” he said. “Chelsea have so many high-quality players. I focus on my part and, when the opportunity comes, I aim to do my best.”

Tactical and physical concerns reported

Reports have suggested that frustration is growing behind the scenes, with Estevao unhappy at his lack of continuity in Alonso’s side. The Brazilian is said to see his long-term position as a central attacker after beginning on the right flank.

That route is complicated by Cole Palmer’s role in the central attacking areas, while there have also been differences over the teenager’s physical development.
