Kylian Mbappe has hailed Jose Mourinho’s intelligence and clear leadership after making a fast start under Real Madrid’s new head coach.

The 27-year-old France international joined the Spanish side during the summer and has quickly become a key figure in Mourinho’s plans. His four-goal return from four Liga appearances has been followed by a decisive contribution in Madrid’s 2-1 Champions League win over Inter.
Mbappe said Mourinho’s tactical sharpness was immediately obvious after their first weeks together. The forward believes the Portuguese coach has given the squad a firm framework and a clear route to follow.
“He is very intelligent,” Mbappe said. “I was struck by how intelligent he is, although you do not become Jose Mourinho without that quality.”
The former Paris Saint-Germain forward added that Mourinho’s certainty is particularly valuable for the players. “You can see he knows what he is doing and where he wants to go. Players need direction, and with him we have what is needed to do things properly.”
Mbappe will now aim to extend his productive opening spell when Real Madrid host Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabeu in their next Liga outing.
