Ovie Ejaria has launched a public search for his next club, using LinkedIn to announce that he is available as a free agent and inviting approaches from teams seeking midfield or left-wing options.

The 28-year-old, formerly of Liverpool, Reading and Real Oviedo, said he was keeping his profile brief while looking for the right move. He stated that clubs in need of a No. 6, No. 8, No. 10 or a left-sided attacker could contact him directly.

Ejaria added a three-minute video package from his outing against Atlético Madrid last year, featuring his distribution, pressing and off-the-ball movement. He made eight appearances for Oviedo during their spell in LaLiga last season after spending the previous campaign outside the professional game.

Born into Arsenal’s academy system, Ejaria moved to Liverpool and played twice in the Premier League, as well as making three FA Cup appearances. Loan spells with Sunderland and Rangers came before he joined Reading, where knee problems disrupted a six-year stay. Reading released him at the end of 2023.

Footballers increasingly use LinkedIn to reach clubs, scouts and agents directly, particularly outside the top tiers. The platform has also produced international opportunities: Dublin-born Pico Lopes received his first Cape Verde invitation there in 2018, when coach Rui Águas contacted him as the national side widened its player pool.

Lopes did not respond for nine months because the original message was written in Portuguese and he had not considered translating it. He later started each of Cape Verde’s four matches at the 2026 World Cup.
