Pearl Abyss Details Crimson Desert Update 1.15 Patch Notes Focused on Fixes
Pearl Abyss has rolled out a new update for Crimson Desert focused less on adding big features and more on stabilizing the game and correcting long-running issues. The patch arrives as the studio continues to evolve the experience based on player behavior and feedback, following earlier rapid rounds of changes meant to address early mixed impressions.
Quick facts: what changed in the July 23 patch
- Stability fixes across multiple systems, including crash prevention related to Cross Save
- Housing and farming fixes: crops growing/harvesting issues addressed
- Oongka and Damiane: loadout gear lock status now saves correctly
- Cross Save: crash on platform switching fixed
- Combat and gameplay tweaks across bosses, mounts, quests, and UI
While earlier updates for Crimson Desert have typically introduced major additions—like control adjustments and endgame improvements such as Re-blockade—the July 23 release is smaller in scope. Its priority is quality-of-life and reliability, with fixes targeting a range of problems reported by players.
For players spending time on the quieter sides of the game, the update addresses crop-related bugs. It fixes situations where crops stop growing and cases where harvesting fails under certain conditions. The patch also resolves an issue where large fish carried on the player’s back would vanish after collecting additional fish from a fish trap.
Character and progression quality is also improved. Players using Oongka or Damiane can now save their loadouts again, after the update fixes a problem that prevented the lock status of equipped gear from staying saved.
Cross Save stability improved
The patch tackles a bigger issue tied to Cross Save, which was added in patch 1.14. Some players reportedly encountered crashing when loading save data on a different platform, and this update fixes that crash-related problem so they can move between PlayStation, Xbox, and PC more reliably.
Beyond Cross Save, the update includes additional stability and gameplay fixes, including resolving cases where the game could occasionally crash during Cross Save loading. It also addresses an issue where the character’s posture could look unnatural while riding a mount, and a bug where wagons could occasionally disappear when using the “Escape” function with stolen wagons.
Gameplay, UI, and combat bug fixes
A range of combat and encounter fixes are included as well. The patch fixes a problem where certain bosses would appear transparent during battle. It also corrects several ability and interaction issues, such as the crosshair for “Axiom Force” showing even when the target is outside its activation range, and “Aerial Roll” traveling an unusually short distance when used after “Aerial Maneuver.”
Movement and traversal are improved too. The update fixes an issue where the Wyvern could not be summoned while midair, and corrects camera behavior where the view could remain zoomed in while swimming in certain locations. UI and visual correctness are also addressed, including a fix for abnormal colors and transparency in HDR-enabled setups.
Quest-related and progression items receive attention as well. The patch fixes a situation where players could not attack while riding the quest objective bear to the village during the “Scattered Honey Jars” quest. It also changes the location of the “Mace of Ambition” so it can be obtained more easily.
Additional fixes cover mounts, character animations, and edge-case visuals. The update includes a fix for Kliff partially sinking into the ground when using “Blinding Flash Finisher” on a slope, along with improvements to localization by fixing various localization errors and enhancing localization quality across all languages.
Future DLC teased
While the current patch is primarily maintenance-focused, Pearl Abyss says larger content is planned. The studio has teased major DLC for Crimson Desert, with marketing and PR director Will Powers noting it is specifically being labeled as DLC and implying there is a deliberate reason for that approach. No details or timeline were provided, though Gamescom is approaching and may influence what players learn next.
