Nintendo has set a release date for the first installment of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC, with Bubbly Basin arriving on August 5, 2026. The update is centered on an underwater town, bringing new ways to explore beneath the sea and adding ocean-floor themed content for players to incorporate into their builds.

Bubbly Basin is designed to expand the game’s world with encounters featuring Pokémon that live underwater, along with new furniture themed around the ocean floor. It also adds fresh outfits for Ditto, continuing the DLC’s focus on letting players reshape their paradise with sea-inspired customization.

The Expansion Pass will continue after Bubbly Basin with Part 2 launching in late 2026 and Part 3 scheduled for 2027. Both later parts are planned to introduce their own additional features, with Part 3 bringing yet another new town to explore.

In addition to the DLC schedule, players are also looking at a free 2.0 update planned for next month. This update adds Dive as a new move, enabling Ditto to explore underwater environments for the first time, expanding how players can navigate and interact with the game world between DLC releases.

Pokemon Pokopia is available on Nintendo Switch 2. In the game, players begin in a desolate world where the only apparent remaining resident is a lone Tangrowth. After a long slumber, a peculiar Ditto takes on the task of restoring the withered land using transformation abilities and new crafting capabilities, building a Pokémon paradise that includes crafting, building, gardening, and inviting friends and Pokémon to visit. As the world is restored, players encounter more Pokémon that teach useful moves, and the game’s neighbors can help with building houses and request assistance to develop a cozy utopia.
