Rodri has apologised to Valencia after television footage captured remarks made on Barcelona’s bench during last weekend’s 5-0 win at Mestalla.

The Barcelona midfielder spoke publicly after Wednesday’s 5-1 Champions League victory against Feyenoord, confirming he had already contacted Valencia captain Jose Gaya to explain the exchange and offer his apology to the squad.

Rodri said he was sorry to anybody offended by the footage, insisting his words were surprise at the match situation rather than an attempt to ridicule Valencia.
