Samuel Lino marked his first senior Brazil goals with a second-half double as Carlo Ancelotti’s side swept India aside 4-0 in Kolkata. The 26-year-old came on for Vinicius at half-time, struck in the 58th minute and added Brazil’s fourth in stoppage time at Salt Lake Stadium.

Lino delivers after half-time introduction

Brazil had already taken control before Lino entered the contest. Estevao and Flamengo striker Pedro put the visitors in front, before Lino’s clinical finish extended the lead shortly before the hour.

The forward then rounded off the win late on, beating the goalkeeper to complete a dominant night for the Selecao.

  • Brazil beat India 4-0 at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata.
  • Estevao opened the scoring.
  • Pedro, Lino’s Flamengo team-mate, also found the net.
  • Lino replaced Vinicius at the break and scored twice.
  • His goals were his first at senior international level.

Flamengo pair give Lino extra satisfaction

Lino said the result was a strong way for Brazil to finish their three-game spell and took particular pleasure from sharing the scoresheet with Pedro.

He said he was pleased to contribute to the national-team victory and felt the two Flamengo goals underlined the club’s quality of representation in the Brazil squad.

Heat slows Brazil’s tempo in Kolkata

The winger also highlighted the difficult conditions faced by both teams. Lino said temperatures reached 30 degrees at night, 40 in the morning and 35 during the afternoon.

He described the humidity as draining and said the heat made it harder to sustain a fast rhythm throughout the match.

Singapore friendlies next for Brazil

Lino is determined to remain in contention despite intense competition in Brazil’s attacking positions. Vinicius started on the left against India, while Rodrygo is another established option in Ancelotti’s forward line.

The Flamengo player said he will return to club duty encouraged by his performance, while acknowledging that he must keep working to earn further international opportunities.

  • Brazil return during the November international break.
  • Japan are scheduled to face the Selecao in Kallang, Singapore, on November 14.
  • Brazil then meet Singapore at the same venue three days later.
  • The two friendlies offer Lino another chance to impress Ancelotti’s staff.
