Volcano Princess Hits Nintendo Switch on July 30, Prologue Demo Now Live
Volcano Princess is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch later than many fans expected, but the wait finally has a confirmed date: the RPG-parenting sim will launch on the Nintendo eShop on July 30, 2026—nearly three years after it was first announced for the platform.
Release date and what’s already available
The full Switch version of Volcano Princess launches on July 30, 2026. In the meantime, a prologue demo is now available on the Nintendo eShop so players can get an early look at how the game’s systems work.
There’s an important catch with the demo: save data from the prologue will not carry over to the complete release. Also, while the Switch port was announced back in September 2023, details went quiet until now.
During this period, the publishing lineup has also shifted, with the project moving from Gamera Games to Colorful Palette.
Core premise: parenting decisions that reshape the empire
Volcano Princess places players in a classic medieval setting where raising a daughter takes place against a backdrop of swords and magic. Your choices don’t just shape day-to-day life—they influence your daughter’s path and, more broadly, the future of the entire empire.
As your daughter grows, you’ll deal with a variety of challenges. At the same time, the world keeps turning toward bigger threats: demonic forces begin to gather as the Owl Princess—leader of the demons—starts stirring again. Something is moving in the background, and it’s up to you to uncover what’s coming.
How choices work (and why multiple endings matter)
Throughout your daughter’s life, decisions you make will redirect her development toward different results. The game is built around branching outcomes, including more than 50 possible endings, with over 20 tied specifically to emotional routes.
Volcano Princess also includes numerous development paths and many distinct ways to raise your daughter. The gameplay features a wide range of activities, including farming, cooking, fishing, gambling, dueling, drama, dancing, horse racing, and life on the backstreets—letting you tailor her upbringing to your preferences.
What you’ll be aiming for
The game’s question is simple: what destiny will you carve out for your daughter? By building her story in Volcano Princess, you can work toward a truly personal and unique ending.
- Raise your daughter in a fantasy medieval world
- Explore how your choices can affect your daughter’s life
- Wholesome as parenting can be, it’s also highly emotional
- Different simulation mechanics
