Zlatan Ibrahimovic Adds Ferrari F80 to Supercar Collection on 45th Birthday
Zlatan Ibrahimovic marked his 45th birthday by adding a Ferrari F80 to his celebrated supercar collection, continuing a habit of turning major personal occasions into high-end automotive purchases. The former Sweden striker’s latest Ferrari quickly drew reactions online, including the familiar joke that the car is not being driven by Ibrahimovic — it is driving him.
Off the pitch, Ibrahimovic remains closely involved with AC Milan, although he is not formally a club director. His official job is Senior Advisor to RedBird Capital and owner Gerry Cardinale, placing him alongside the ownership group rather than inside Milan’s daily executive structure.
That role gives Ibrahimovic significant influence on major sporting choices, including discussions around the appointment of coaches and sporting directors. He acts as a key link between the American ownership and the European football environment, helping ensure that Milan’s football plans work alongside the club’s wider business objectives.
He does not, however, operate as a permanent presence around the first team. Ibrahimovic recently returned to Milanello after six months away, appearing in the build-up to an important match against Benfica. His more distant approach is designed to leave the coaching staff, including Ruben Amorim, room to run the squad without daily intervention from one of the game’s biggest personalities.
Ibrahimovic has also continued to follow his former clubs closely. Asked for his view on the current campaign, the ex-Barcelona forward backed Hansi Flick’s Barcelona to win both La Liga and the Champions League.
Now in his 46th year, Ibrahimovic’s working relationship with Cardinale remains central to his post-playing career. The retired forward retains the freedom to operate in his own style while offering advice on Milan’s strategic direction, even when much of his influence is exercised away from the spotlight.
