GameStop Partners With Uber Eats for Same-Day Delivery of Physical Games
GameStop is teaming up with Uber Eats to give select customers a same-day delivery option for physical video games and accessories. The rollout covers participating markets across the United States, but the convenience comes with a few important limits players should know before placing an order.
The announcement lands during a hectic stretch for the retailer. GameStop’s attempt to buy eBay for $55 billion in cash and stock was turned down, yet CEO Ryan Cohen is still reported to be pushing forward with the eBay bid. Reports also claim the company’s top executive walked away from a $35 billion performance bonus tied to the ongoing effort to take over eBay. While a hostile approach to acquiring eBay still hasn’t been ruled out, the coming months will determine how realistic GameStop’s strategy is and what comes next.
Separately, GameStop has also moved to discontinue one of its best-known customer perks—an advantage that has been part of the gaming ecosystem for years.
GameStop is Now Available Within Uber Eats
For a long time, GameStop has relied on methods like store pickup and shipping for physical releases, meaning same-day delivery wasn’t generally available to most customers. That changes with the new GameStop–Uber Eats partnership. At the time of writing, some players can open the Uber Eats app, shop at participating GameStop locations, and request same-day delivery for games, consoles, and accessories. To begin, users need to browse the Retail or Electronics sections inside Uber Eats, then search for “GameStop.” From there, the process mirrors how food orders work on Uber Eats: customers can choose a delivery window and follow the courier’s progress in real time.
GameStop is joining other major retailers already present on Uber Eats, including Best Buy and Target.
Before the clock runs out, take a moment to spot what’s new on the shelves.
After opening the Uber Eats app, eligible users should see a curated selection of this month’s top titles—such as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remastered—available for direct delivery. Still, there are several conditions attached to using Uber Eats as the buying route for GameStop products. First, customers will need to cover a delivery charge on any GameStop order placed through Uber Eats. That fee is added on top of any taxes and additional charges tied to the purchase itself. Second, availability is tied to your location in the same way Uber Eats restaurant delivery works. In practice, that means players who live too far from a participating GameStop storefront may not get same-day delivery options through the app.
Orders placed via Uber Eats aren’t limited to software. GameStop listings available through the platform also include both new and pre-owned consoles and accessories. For players hunting deals, this could be useful—especially since GameStop has previously offered certain Switch 2 accessory items at prices lower than other retailers. The same approach extends beyond hardware and games, too, including items like Pokemon Trading Card Game products and other collectible categories. That said, what’s purchasable through Uber Eats will vary depending on which GameStop location is fulfilling the order. In short, players should check what’s stocked at the closest participating store before expecting a specific item to be delivered quickly.

While services like Amazon continue to be popular for next-day delivery, GameStop’s latest move with Uber Eats offers a faster alternative for players who want their gaming gear sooner. Whether this new same-day option becomes a meaningful win for GameStop—and for shoppers—will likely depend on how widely it expands and how smoothly it performs over time.
