Isak stands by Liverpool move
The forward’s arrival at Anfield was one of the biggest statements of the 2025 transfer window, but his first months in red proved difficult. Isak found the net only three times in the league before a leg break ended his momentum and forced him into a long rehabilitation.
He nevertheless remains convinced Liverpool was the right destination. Asked whether last season’s setbacks had made him question the transfer, Isak replied: “No, never. I would never think that way.”
He pointed to Liverpool’s scale, ambition and determination to sign him as decisive factors. “It is a huge club,” he said, adding that the club’s desire to bring him in had mattered greatly.

Isak’s exit from Newcastle had already been turbulent. He did not take part in the club’s pre-season programme while uncertainty surrounded his future, instead working on his conditioning with former side Real Sociedad.
The striker said broken promises at St James’ Park helped lead to his Liverpool move. Once at Anfield, however, the injury created another major obstacle.
