Bayern deny Real Madrid bid for Olise as Kane contract talks continue
Bayern Munich received no official summer offer for Michael Olise, with the club dismissing claims that Real Madrid had submitted a bid for the France winger.
Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said the reported approach was false and stressed that the Bundesliga champions had no intention of selling a player he described as vital to Vincent Kompany’s side. “There were no offers,” Dreesen said. “Our position has always been clear: we are not interested.”
Olise, 24, arrived from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth €60 million including add-ons. He has since produced 45 goals in 111 matches in all competitions and collected the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award in 2024-25 before being named Bundesliga Player of the Season in 2025-26.
Olise remains central, but Bayern offer no long-term guarantee
The winger is tied to Bayern until summer 2029 and has already won two Bundesliga titles, the DFB-Pokal and two Franz Beckenbauer Supercups in Bavaria.
However, Dreesen stopped short of guaranteeing that Olise will remain beyond future transfer windows. Asked to calm concerns over elite-club interest, he said promises in football can be difficult to make.
- Michael Olise: Bayern insist there was no Real Madrid bid and no desire to sell.
- Harry Kane: Bayern are also in positive discussions over the England captain’s future, although Dreesen would not reveal details of a possible new contract.
Kane’s current deal expires in summer 2027. The striker has scored 148 goals in 151 appearances since joining from Tottenham Hotspur and has won two European Golden Shoes. Dreesen said the relationship between Kane and the Bayern board was relaxed, with both parties appearing keen to continue together, while adding that contract length remained private.
What happens next
Bayern will turn back to the pitch on Thursday, when they host FK Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League. Kompany’s team began the campaign by beating Borussia Dortmund to lift the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup and then opened their Bundesliga title defence with a 5-1 win over Stuttgart, before newly promoted Schalke held them to a 0-0 draw.
