Cole Palmer Suspended by Twitch Over Early EA FC 27 Stream

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer was briefly suspended by Twitch on Tuesday after broadcasting EA Sports FC 27 ahead of its scheduled release.

The England international streamed for more than an hour on Tuesday afternoon, drawing thousands of viewers as he played the new title. FC 27 is due for worldwide release on September 25, with early access opening on September 18.

The broadcast came before EA Sports FC’s own planned gameplay presentation later that evening. During Palmer’s stream, the game’s official account appeared in the chat to suggest he had gone live too early and pointed viewers towards the 6pm UK broadcast.

The stream ended soon afterwards, and Palmer’s account then carried the Twitch suspension notice. He appealed on Instagram, tagging Twitch and EA Sports FC while saying he had simply given viewers what they wanted and asking to be reinstated.

Palmer later added that he expected to return soon in a reply to a post about the suspension.

Before the broadcast was cut short, the 24-year-old also made his feelings clear over his player rating. Palmer has been marked at 85 out of 99 for FC 27, two points below his score in the previous edition.

He said EA needed to explain the reduction, arguing that he had effectively played with one leg for 10 months during the last campaign. Palmer’s 2025-26 season was disrupted by injuries, including a groin issue that ruled him out for two months.

Palmer also questioned why Chelsea teammate Rogers had been given a pace mark of 76, one above his own 75. He described some of EA’s ratings as difficult to understand.
