Fortnite x Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey Crossover July 16

Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite will get an official crossover with Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, arriving later this week. The collaboration is scheduled to start on Thursday, July 16, bringing two new Odyssey-themed skins to the battle royale.

Background on The Odyssey

The Odyssey, announced in December 2024, is Christopher Nolan’s 13th feature film. The story draws from Homer’s epic poem and follows the Greek general Odysseus as he journeys home to Ithaca after the battle of Troy. Along the way, Odysseus faces mythical threats, while his son Telemachus and his wife Penelope deal with an escalating situation back home.

What’s coming to Fortnite

Epic has set the start date for the crossover to Thursday, July 16.
A 17-second teaser posted on July 15 said, “It’s time to head home. The Odyssey comes to Fortnite later this week,” confirming the collaboration.
The teaser shows Fortnite recreating moments from the first two trailers of The Odyssey, with in-game character models standing in for the film’s cast.
Two new skins are being added: an Odysseus character skin and a second skin featuring Agamemnon.
Epic’s weekly Item Shop teaser later reinforced that the Odysseus skin will arrive in the Item Shop on Thursday, July 16.
The Item Shop teaser also appeared to preview an emote tied to the Odysseus bundle, showing the character bending down and placing a helmet on a makeshift grave.

In the announcement material, Odysseus is presented as an armored version closely matching Matt Damon’s likeness, but stylized to fit Fortnite’s look. The second skin depicts Agamemnon in bulky armor, shown with a rough recreation of Troy-style walls.

Hot Bat DC Summer event and other odds and ends

Thursday’s update is also tied to the Hot Bat DC Summer Event in Fortnite, where players can earn items including the New Batman Sprite and additional DC Summer Skins.

Beyond the confirmed Odysseus bundle emote, it’s currently unclear what else may be included in the Fortnite x The Odyssey bundle. There are also rumors of an Odyssey-themed Fortnite Cup starting on July 16, with themed sprays and loading screens for winners.
