Epic Games has officially confirmed that Fortnite is getting a crossover with Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. The collaboration is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, July 16, and will bring two new Odyssey-themed skins to the battle royale.

Released in December 2024, The Odyssey marks Christopher Nolan’s 13th feature film, and early reactions suggest it may be his biggest-scale project yet. The story draws from Homer’s epic poem, following the ancient Greek commander Odysseus as he makes the dangerous voyage home after the conflict at Troy. Along the way, Odysseus faces a string of mythical dangers, while his son Telemachus and his wife Penelope are stuck in a tense, unraveling situation back on Ithaca.

As part of this week’s rollout in Fortnite, players will also be able to jump into the Hot Bat DC Summer Event on Thursday and pick up the New Batman Sprite, along with additional DC Summer Skins and more.

Fortnite Is Adding Odyssey Skins

Fortnite has already partnered with multiple film and television brands that carry an R-rating, and The Odyssey appears to be the next major crossover. On July 15, the official Fortnite social account shared a 17-second teaser trailer with the message, “It’s time to head home. The Odyssey comes to Fortnite later this week.” The clip confirms the upcoming Fortnite x Odyssey partnership and leans heavily into recognizable moments from the first two trailers for The Odyssey, but with in-game character models standing in for the movie’s actors.

In the announcement footage, players get a clear view of the Odysseus skin. Many of the shots focus on an armored look that closely resembles Matt Damon in the role, presented in a way that keeps the vibe believable while still pushing enough stylized, game-friendly details to avoid looking overly grounded. The teaser also briefly previews the second Odyssey skin: Agamemnon, depicted as a large, imposing figure moving through a rough recreation of the walls of Troy.

Shortly after the crossover reveal, an account centered on Fortnite leaks posted full images of both skins. The designs reportedly match the game’s visual language well. The Odysseus outfit is said to capture Matt Damon’s likeness effectively while still reading clearly as Fortnite once the stylization is applied. Meanwhile, Agamemnon’s thick, heavy armor—something that has drawn debate in discussions around historical accuracy for The Odyssey—appears to translate naturally into Fortnite’s look and feel.

Hours after the crossover announcement, Fortnite followed up with its weekly teaser for the Item Shop. The Odysseus skin returned in the preview, alongside a direct confirmation that it will arrive in the Item Shop on Thursday, July 16. The teaser also hinted at an emote tied to the Odysseus bundle, showing the character crouching and placing a helmet on a makeshift grave.

What else will be included in the Fortnite x Odyssey bundle is still not confirmed. However, rumors suggest it could also feature a loading screen. Separately, an Odyssey-themed Fortnite Cup is being discussed as a July 16 start, with reports claiming it may reward winners with themed sprays and loading screens.
