What’s coming in Rock and Ride

Nacelle says the new game will be its first Biker Mice title in over 20 years, following the previous entry that launched on PS2 and Nintendo DS back in 2006. In Rock and Ride, the core biker trio will be playable, with additional unlockable characters including Carbine and Scorch.

The publisher also confirms the gameplay style will be arcade-style, designed to match the high-energy action fans associate with the original property.

Studios behind the game

Biker Mice from Mars: Rock and Ride is being developed by Purple Play Games. Nacelle positioned Purple Play as a studio focused on bringing titles from Latin America to broader global audiences, and noted that the team previously released Baki Hanma: Blood Arena, a 1v1 fighting game based on the Baki manga franchise.

How the cartoon reboot may connect

Nacelle has also indicated that the wider Biker Mice universe is expanding beyond the game. In 2023, actor Ryan Reynolds and his production company Maximum Effort announced a collaboration with The Nacelle Company on a cartoon TV series, though no release date for the show has been provided.

Reynolds has been involved in adapting the 80s arcade title Dragon’s Lair into a TV series. For Biker Mice, the upcoming animated reboot is described as putting a new spin on the original, focusing on the conflict between the Biker Mice and the Plutarkians—mirroring the core premise of the 90s cartoon.

At this stage, it’s still unclear whether the TV series and Rock and Ride will directly tie into one another, or whether they’ll operate as parallel projects within the same rebooted franchise.
