Getafe president Ángel Torres has confirmed the club are back in talks with Jadon Sancho and expect to know next week whether an agreement can be completed.

The Madrid club are trying to build a deal for the 26-year-old free agent, whose representatives have offered him to several teams after recent moves failed to materialise. Krasnodar were among the clubs approached, but no transfer was agreed.

Quick facts

  • Getafe are negotiating with Jadon Sancho and have also identified Dani Parejo as a possible signing.
  • Torres said discussions over Sancho had also taken place three or four months earlier.
  • The club hope negotiations can be resolved before the end of the month, with clarity expected next week.
  • Sancho is understood to be seeking wages of around €4 million.
  • Getafe are examining personal financial guarantees to meet La Liga registration requirements.

Torres revealed the plans before Getafe’s Conference League match in Craiova, describing Sancho and Villarreal midfielder Parejo as the two names under consideration. “We have been speaking to Sancho, as we did a few months ago,” he said. “Parejo is another possibility, and next week we should know if either negotiation can be concluded.”

Sancho’s salary demands present the biggest obstacle. A package close to €4 million would be a major commitment for Getafe, who must keep any deal within La Liga’s financial controls.

Torres is considering a structure involving a personal guarantee or endorsement, similar to the mechanism used in the Dani Carvajal acquisition. The idea is to close the financial gap while ensuring the players can be registered.

For Sancho, a move to the Coliseum would offer a route back into regular prominence after inconsistent years since his Borussia Dortmund peak. Getafe believe José Bordalás could give the former England international a demanding environment and a central attacking role.

Parejo, meanwhile, would bring extensive top-flight experience and control in midfield if Getafe can persuade Villarreal to sanction his return to the capital. The club are pushing on both fronts as they look to strengthen their position in La Liga.
