Lamine Yamal has launched his first American Eagle collection in Barcelona, with the US clothing brand formally entering the Spanish market through the partnership with the Barcelona forward.

The “American Eagle x Lamine Yamal” range was unveiled through a city-wide campaign combining fashion, music and street culture. The 19-year-old also made a surprise appearance at the American Eagle Beach Club at Moll de la Marina, taking time out from training to serve as a guest judge in a rap battle for hundreds of invited guests.

Barcelona launch puts Yamal at centre of campaign

  • A temporary venue called The Studio opened in Dreta de l’Eixample.
  • Visitors were able to personalise denim pieces in workshops led by local creatives Urees and Otti Hats.
  • Artist TV Boy produced a 21-metre mural in tribute to Yamal and the new collection.
  • The activation linked the forward’s image with youth fashion, hip-hop and Barcelona street culture.

Yamal said the launch carried extra significance because it took place in his home city. He said it was “very special” to see the collection come alive in Barcelona and watch people make the clothing their own.

The forward added that fashion has long interested him and that the pieces reflect both his personality and his preferred style of dress. Sharing the project with Barcelona, he said, made the occasion even more meaningful.

Who is affected and what comes next

American Eagle is using Yamal’s profile to build its European presence, with the campaign designed to connect denim, creativity and younger consumers. Chief marketing officer Craig Brommers said the collaboration is rooted in the player’s genuine appeal to his generation.

For Yamal, the deal expands his off-pitch portfolio while he continues his football commitments for Barcelona and Spain. The immediate next step is the rollout of the collection in Spain following the Barcelona launch events.
