Parkasaurus: Dinoluxe Edition Lands on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 5, 2026
Infogrames and Washbear Studio have announced a new edition of Parkasaurus for Nintendo Switch 2, titled Parkasaurus: Dinoluxe Edition. The game is scheduled to launch on August 5, 2026, bringing the dinosaur theme-park management experience back to Nintendo’s next system along with additional content.
Parkasaurus originally released on Nintendo Switch, and the Nintendo Switch 2 version includes the base game plus two downloadable expansions: “Sea Monsters” and “Prehistoric Wonders.” The added “Prehistoric Wonders” content introduces 10 new creatures to discover, including Mammoth, Dire Wolf, and Giant Capybara. “Sea Monsters” adds 10 new sea creatures across three new biomes, featuring aquatic habitats built with fluid water physics, including options like raising a Mosasaurus from a baby or creating a home for an Archelon.
In Parkasaurus, players design and manage a prehistoric park where each dinosaur requires its own biosphere. That means exhibit planning goes beyond decoration: the layout, building materials, ecology, plants, elevation, and humidity all affect whether dinosaurs thrive. Players acquire dinosaur eggs, hatch them inside their exhibits, and grow their herd to full size—while also dealing with the recurring problem of dinos that escape and cause rampages. When things go wrong, the game also supports a first-person mode to help diffuse the chaos.
Managing the park’s finances and day-to-day operations is a major part of the loop. Players can hire and oversee a scientist research team as well as other employee roles, adjust admission pricing and attraction fees, and monitor guest reviews. Weather and events also factor into planning, with seasonal conditions, unexpected storms, and even catastrophes that can impact both park performance and dinosaur wellbeing.
Parkasaurus: Dinoluxe Edition includes the base game along with “Sea Monsters” and “Prehistoric Wonders.” The package features 44 total dino breeds—24 from the base game, 10 from “Sea Monsters,” and 10 from “Prehistoric Wonders.” Players will also build across 12 biomes, with nine from the base game and three tied to “Sea Monsters.” The game includes research to unlock additional dinosaur eggs, technologies, items, and upgrades, and it supports monetization through admission, donation boxes, food stalls, and higher fees for top-demand exhibits.
For structured goals, the edition includes 15 missions in different areas, with 12 missions originating from the base game and three from “Sea Monsters.” It also supports four employee types to help keep operations running smoothly.
